PowerLanguage was created in Scotland in 2006 and is pioneering a new generation of resources for learners, practitioners and policy makers. The days of cumbersome folders and set text books to suit all schools are over! Developing skills using age-appropriate resources, ensuring progression, flexibility, depth and breadth of learning is at the heart of PowerLanguage for Schools.
Meet the Team!
Elise Gay
in charge of the development of Suggested Planners and Associated Resources
Hello! I am a graduate of English Language and Cultures and French as a Foreign Language from the University of Rouen in Normandy, and have held various teaching positions since I moved to Scotland in 1996. I specialise in the teaching of languages to Younger Learners, and worked as a consultant and French teacher in many Primary and Nursery schools before becoming a Teacher Trainer. I am passionate about Education in general and the teaching/learning of languages in particular.
I am one of the founding members of PowerLanguage and really enjoy the creative process involved in the development of planners and resources for the classroom. I pull both on my many years of experience as a teacher of young learners and on the latest research in language acquisition to produce material which I hope is relevant, engaging and innovative!

in charge of all Responsive, Transition and From Your Colleagues resources
Salut ! Having graduated in Applied Languages and French as a Foreign Language in Paris, I have taught French in the USA, Scotland and Australia for many years, working across Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and adult Education sectors. I have specialised in immersion techniques and I am now very interested in the latest Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) research.
I am currently based in France but continue to work with language teachers in Europe and Australia, although most of my time is now dedicated to resource development for PowerLanguage. With teachers’ requests for new resources covering a large range of topics, I aim to present interesting and engaging content and activities, encouraging both teachers and pupils to explore language and culture.
Richard Tallaron
in charge of our Language Training Programmes and responsible for Marketing and Business development
Bonjour ! I spent 4 years studying at St Etienne University – my hometown in France – where I graduated in Scottish Literature and Teaching French as a Foreign Language. I then completed my postgraduate studies between Grenoble and Edinburgh. I am now based in Scotland, although I travel a lot across Europe and beyond to run training programmes.
I founded PowerLanguage after many years of working as a language teacher and teacher trainer, so that the practitioners I work with can find support once they are back in their classrooms. Stimulating activities and innovative methodology are at the heart of my workshops and training sessions. My goal is to enhance the learning and teaching experience of practitioners and their pupils and to make them enjoy languages!

Hi! My background is in Admin Support and I am one of the team that founded PowerLanguage back in 2006. My role is to provide administrative assistance to our clients as well as my colleagues. I also oversee the Content management of both our PowerLanguage Schools and PowerLanguage Courses websites. This is a very varied and interesting post, in which I strive to give the best support possible to all!
We currently develop resources in Chinese, French, Gaelic, German, Japanese and Spanish, and work with a large team of fantastic language teachers and developers who are all experienced and qualified native speakers. We are indebted to them for their hard work and commitment! Thank you!
We would also like to thank Olga Parras González and Elsa Daures for their amazing contribution to building this site!
